Football
Football
“Daddy, does God play football?” At first, the preoccupied grown-up doesn’t take his little boy’s question seriously, but as he gradually enters the game, he toys with the idea: how would it be if God really did play football, and joined the Hungarian national side?
At the end of the story the writer asks Him whether, once amongst us, He could go beyond helping the hapless team, and “stand just behind us and place your hand on our shoulders.”
Together with a brand-new, re-illustrated series of Ervin Lázár’s classic collections of stories and children’s fiction, Móra Publishing House is launching a series of picture books, of which Football, with the delightful collages of Csilla Kőszeghy, is the first volume.
